Sikw Elasa'sit - The Sun Shines Towards Spring
Shiny Shades of Smokey Soup!! This collection has been a LONG time in the making. Not only because of how long it took to separate it all out from the REST of the bead soup (you don't even want to know... 😅), but also because of how long it took to decide on styles and shapes. The moons are pretty self explanatory, but everything used is meant to show the stages leading up to spring- the moons passing, the snow melting and flowing, the seeds being started, the bulbs being planted. With how suddenly snowy it got today, I felt that this was the right time to post my optimistic hope of spring coming soon.
This collection uses 11/0 and 8/0 seed beads from my bead soup, as well as multifaceted crystal rondelles, fire polished bicones, and multifaceted Labradorite teardrops. The frames are all hypoallergenic, and ear wires will be added as requested.
I've been waiting for such a long time to use the Labradorite teardrops!! They're expensive, so I was waiting for the 'right' collection. I still have a bunch left for remakes or future pieces, but this is the first time they've been used.
This was also partially inspired by the various smoke collections from @lisa.beading ! Her use of different types of fancy crystal beads is absolutely GORGEOUS, and she is such an inspiration for me! Lisa reminds me that it's okay to have boundaries in my life, especially when it comes to my business- something that I continually struggle with.Â
I actually have a post that's been in my drafts about that, and have been just waiting for the right time to share it. Lisa is a perfect example of how people ask for unpaid labour- mainly because she will remind us that it ISN'T okay to ask for. I definitely need the reminder every so often! I'm bad for just saying "yes"!
